History of Coonabarabran Aero Club
Coonabarabran Aero Club Inc (CAC) was formed in 1957. The club provides a meeting place for all people interested in aviation.
The club has for decades brought together like-minded aviators. Hosting events, fly aways and club dinners.
In 2019, out our club won the Wings Awards 'Aero Club of the Year' which was an honour and motivated us to continue the hard work we had been putting in to promote flying in the area. You can read more about this below.
More recently the club has turned its focus to welcoming a new generation of pilots to Coonabarabran. In doing this a number of evens have evolved, including Wings and Things as well as our learn to fly day which we hope to continue alongside our dedicated flight training staff.

Our club have built a strong connection to the local High school where we have run lessons on the flight simulator for almost 10 years! This is a great way for us to spark interest in aviation for the next generation.

After the success of our flight training internally with younger members, we reached out to the community to find new talent with great success! We loved having new faces at the club and by the looks on their faces we could have some new pilots very soon!
